All our seed is of local provenance and known origin
Seed collection
Bunya Native Nursery operates under the Flora Bank best practice guidelines which focuses on collecting the highest quality and most genetically diverse mix of native seed. This ensures our plants are the healthiest and strongest possible. All our seed is of local provenance and known origin. Our staff are fully licensed under Section 132C of the National Parks and Wildlife Act 1974 to collect within Endangered Ecological Communities throughout Sydney and have over 18 years’ experience collecting seed for a wide range of projects and clients. Bunya Native Nursery are able to collect seed for a wide range of projects and are available year round to collect seed from the full range of native species.
Seed cleaning and storage
Bunya Native Nursery only obtains high quality native seed which is then expertly cleaned in a manner that is specific to the species. Seeds for future use are then stored in our airtight containers and placed in our nursery specific refrigerator. This usually means we are able to grow a large range and number of species on request. Please feel free to contact our staff to discuss our current seed stock.
Propagation
Bunya Native Nursery are able to grow our wide range of plants from either seed or from cuttings (which have proven to be very successful for some hard-to-grow species). This variation in propagation method has enabled our nursery to provide uncommon and rarity species, some of which are only found through our nursery.
Plant delivery
We are able to transport plants either to Council depots or revegetation sites for a delivery fee depending on distance. If you would prefer to pick up your plants we are more than happy to assist you loading them.
